Thomas E. Trask

Dr. Thomas E. Trask currently serves as the chairman of the Global Prayer Initiative of Convoy of Hope. As chairman, Trask is challenging churches and their leaders to regularly pray for the poor and suffering.

Prior to his appointment to the Initiative, Trask was elected chief executive officer of the Assemblies of God in 1993. While serving in that capacity he was a member of the denomination’s Board of Administration and the Executive Presbytery.

Over the years, Trask has served on many national boards in the Evangelical community. He remains chairman of the board for AGFS and a member of the board of Rapp.

Trask has served in a variety of capacities since 1956 when he began his ministry in Minnesota. A graduate of North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minn., Trask has spent more than 50 years in ministry, 12 of which he was the senior pastor of Brightmoor Tabernacle.

Ordained in 1958, Trask’s ministry has always had a strong emphasis on prayer, discipleship reaching out of the four walls of the church to the local community and the world. As a pastor he and his congregations were responsible for planting seven churches.

His recent books God is Listening and the 21-Day Prayer Guide as well as the Pray for Hope website are all calls for followers of Christ to pray.
